# Capturing leads

# Capturing Leads

BoothRev gives you three ways to capture a lead. Use whichever one fits the moment. You don't have to pick one method for the whole event.

***

## Method 1: Manual entry

Best for: quick capture when the conversation is still happening.

1. Tap **+ New Lead** from the leads list.
2. Fill in first name, last name, company, and email if you have it.
3. Tap **Save**.

That's it. You can add more detail — title, phone, notes, intent — from the lead's page after saving. The form is intentionally short so you can finish it while the conversation is still going.

If you don't have the email yet, leave it blank. The lead goes to your Drafts tab. You can confirm the email later.

## Method 2: Business card scan

Best for: capturing contact details quickly and accurately from a physical card.

1. Tap the **Scan** button at the bottom of the screen.
2. Point your phone camera at the business card.
3. BoothRev reads the card and extracts the name, company, title, email, and phone.
4. Review the extracted fields. Correct anything that's wrong.
5. Tap **Save**.

Card scanning runs on your device. The photo never leaves your phone. When you're back online, BoothRev uses AI to refine the extracted fields — but only for fields you haven't already confirmed. Your edits always take priority.

If you're offline, you'll see the raw text from the scan and can fill in the fields manually. Once you're back online, BoothRev processes it automatically.

## Method 3: Voice note

Best for: capturing the full context of a conversation after it ends — what was discussed, what they cared about, what the next step is.

1. Find the lead you want to add context to, or create a new one first.
2. Tap the **Voice** button in the composer bar at the bottom of the lead page.
3. Speak naturally. Describe the conversation, the pain points they mentioned, what they asked about, and what you agreed to do next.
4. Tap **Stop** when you're done.
5. BoothRev saves the recording immediately. Once online, it transcribes it and extracts key details.

A 60-second voice note typically transcribes in about 2 seconds when you're connected. You'll see the transcript appear on the lead's activity timeline.

## Choosing the right method

| Situation | Use |
| --------------------------------------------------------- | ------------ |
| Mid-conversation, quick capture | Manual entry |
| They hand you a card | Card scan |
| Conversation is over, lots of context to record | Voice note |
| You already captured them manually and want to add detail | Voice note |

You can combine them. Scan the card to get the contact details, then add a voice note for the context.
