# Scorecard templates

# Scorecard Templates

A scorecard is a set of qualification questions that reps complete at the booth for each lead. Templates let you define those questions once and apply them consistently across every event.

***

## Why scorecards matter

Without a scorecard, reps qualify leads using their own judgment. That produces inconsistent data. One rep marks everyone Hot. Another leaves intent blank. By the time the leads reach sales, there's no reliable way to compare quality across events or reps.

A scorecard defines what "qualified" means for your organisation and captures that signal at the source — while the rep is still talking to the prospect.

## What goes in a scorecard

Each scorecard is made up of questions that match your sales qualification criteria. Common examples:

* What is the company's current annual revenue?
* Is there a defined budget for this?
* What is the expected decision timeline?
* Who else is involved in the decision?
* What tool or process are they currently using?

You can use open text, multiple choice, or yes/no questions depending on what works for your team.

### Required fields

Some fields in the scorecard can be marked as required. BoothRev tracks data completeness: what percentage of leads have all required fields filled in. This metric appears in the event dashboard.

## Creating a scorecard template

1. Go to **Scorecard Templates** in the left sidebar.
2. Click **+ New Template**.
3. Give the template a name (e.g., "Standard B2B Qualification" or "Enterprise Events Q3").
4. Add your questions one by one.
5. Mark which questions are required.
6. Save the template.

The template is now available for any event owner to apply to their event.

## Applying a template to an event

Event owners select a template when setting up an event. They can adjust the template for their specific event — adding or removing questions — without changing the original template.

This means your standard framework is preserved while allowing per-event flexibility.

If an event owner hasn't selected a scorecard, they can still run the event. But leads from that event won't have structured qualification data, which limits how useful the dashboard metrics will be.

***

## Updating a template

Changes to a template apply to future events only. Existing events that have already used the template keep their original scorecard.

If you need to update the qualification criteria for an ongoing event, the event owner can edit their scorecard settings directly.
